Thanks to your hard work and quick mobilization, we have defeated the amendment to exempt casinos from the Smoke Free Illinois Act.
 
Last night, shortly after midnight, the Senate called the amendment for consideration.  The amendment failed 26-31.

The Governor now has 60 days to sign the bill into law.

While Governor Blagojevich has said publically that he supports this bill, please continue to call and email asking him to sign SB 500 immediately and WITHOUT AMENDMENTS.

This amendment will exempt all riverboat casinos from SB 500, the Smoke-Free Illinois Act.

Voting against were:  Righter, Burzynski, Radogno, &amp; Silverstien
