SB 890 Casino Amendement Defeated
Congratualtions everybody. Thanks to your hard work and quick mobilization, we have defeated the amendment to exempt casinos from the Smoke Free Illinois Act.
Last night, shortly after midnight, the Senate called the amendment for consideration. The amendment failed 26-31.

The session now goes into overtime. Any effort to change the Smoke Free Illinois Act before January now requires a supermajority vote for it to be effective when the Smoke Free Law would take effect.
