Smoke-Free Illinois Now on Facebook

We discovered over the weekend, much to our pleasant surprise, that Smoke-Free Illinois now has its own group on Facebook.com, a social networking site targeted to college and high school students. In a very brief amount of time, the Smoke-Free Illinois group on Facebook has been joined by 441 people. Facebook groups are spread primarily through word-of-mouth efforts and online messaging, and since the group was created independently of the American Cancer Society, it is just more proof that the smoke-free movement is grassroots politics at its finest.

Note: Since Facebook.com is limited to high school students and college students/staff/alumni, you will need to register with the site to view the group. If you are already a registered Facebook user then please join the group and keep the numbers growing!
