Should Naperville ban smoking in public places? Please vote YES!!!

Please vote in favor of a smoke-free law in Naperville

There is still time to contact Naperville's city council and let them know what you think:

City Manager's Office
Attn: Smoke-Free Ordinance
400 S. Eagle St.
Naperville, IL 60540.

Go to non-smoking restaurants and get a life.

I can't wait for the ban; I hope the pass it as soon as possible. The few people who smoke can take it outside for the health of the rest of us.

To the 8:50am poster - another clueless smoker I assume. Please dear lord make Ill. smoke free ASAP!!!

Remarkable that Naperville is considered one of the top "family friendly" towns or "best places to live in America" when the City Council has not taken action to protect workers, citizens and patrons from toxic secondhand smoke. Show some leadership, Mayor Pradel.

I applaud the Naperville Council and Staff on the work they have done toward having a comprehensive ordinance here.
Now PLEASE VOTE for this comprehensive ordinance so we can all go out and toast to our health and wisdom!!

Just because someone does not believe in the smoking ban agenda going across the US does not mean they are a smoker. I do not believe in fanatical political agendas that make villians out of citizens utilizing a legal product or a political group that has used questionable data to support their claims.

I have witnessed the fanaticals and just plain unreasonable people act quite stupid.....acting like someone smoking a cigarette 10 feet away from them is going to kill them. This has been a political agenda period. The data used to say SHS is a health risk to those that do not smoke is really not proven by science at all if you look at everything.

The bottom line is what is going to be next to save US citizens from themselves. This is not a ridiculous statement if you consider there are those that have now moved on to a trans-fat ban in NY and looking at it in Chicago. Where will "we need to save you from yourself end"? This is not American at all.

Business owners should be allowed to make decisions for their own private property. And yes, a the businesses this ban will affect are private property......read the US Constitution.

Non-smokers have a choice to go into a place that allows smoking or not. They are so fanatical they have forgotten the rights of anyone but themselves. This is not what America is about.

The US Constitution protects private property rights, because the founding fathers understood the possibility of those that might want to impose their views on private property owners and businesses. Think about this the next time you start talking about your rights as a non-smoker.
