Rules for Posting Comments
Now that the smoke-free battle is really heating up and people have taken to expressing their opinions on our blog, the time has come to lay down some basic rules for posting:
1.) No swearing or other vulgarity
2.) No personal attacks or threats
3.) If you're going to be overly argumentative, or plan on posting a dissertation length rant, please try to back it up with some actual facts or at the very least some meaningful personal experience.
That's it! We really want to encourage an open dialogue at all times but we've also had to start moderating some comments recently (on both sides of the argument, so no finger pointing) that broke one or more of the above rules.
Anyway, keep the posts coming everybody!

The Smoke-Free Movement
We urge our legislators to support SB500 and to ban ALL indoor smoking in Illinois. Yes, smokers have every right to smoke, but they DO NOT have the right to pollute the air that WE breathe.
We were recently in Florida, which has such a ban. The restaurants were not suffering any loss of business. It was so pleasant to eat in a smoke-free atmosphere!

i just read in the southtown that tinleys mayor is pushing back the smoking ban again.it was suppose to go back in on the 21st.it makes me sad that he dosent care about the people who live in tinley and have to breath second hand smoke, but he wants us to use the bars and restaurants in town.ive lived there 20 years, and think oakpark ave is great, its to bad the mayor has turned against the residents.i wonder if he lets his family breath second hand smoke!i dont.
